Who hasn't been approached by one of these hungry hunters? Oh our friends are there for us when we need them but never as much as when we have an extra piece of steak in our hands. Adorable Koalas

Jorge

Koalas have been in the news lately, but not for good reason. As Australia's deadliest fire sweeps across the state of Victoria in southern Australia, many Koalas have been threatened by the disaster. Above, local CFA firefighter David Tree shares his water with an injured Australian Koala at Mirboo North on Monday, Feb. 9, 2009. "It was amazing, he turned around, sat on his bum and…

Deadliest Fire in Australia's History

The state of Victoria in southern Australia has recently been hit with hundreds of bush fires during a record-breaking heatwave with temperatures well above 100°F (38°C). Unfortunately, these fires have proved to be the deadliest in Australian history, with at least 166 deaths reported so far. Most of the fires appear to have been started by lightning, however a few appear to have been arson, and are currently under investigation. Entire towns are being declared crime scenes. Twenty-four fires… Continue

Actor-Director Dynamics - Annie Leibovitz: Vanity Fair (10 photos)

Nicole Kidman and Baz Luhrmann - Moulin Rouge! and Australia.

As a big movie fan, I really appreciate dynamic chemistry between great actors and directors. Some of these actor-director teams have a history together while others hooked up just last year. In this set, Annie Leibovitz photographs 10 partnerships that helped generate more than… Continue

Jessica Alba in Elle Magazine

Elle Magazine's March 2009 feature of Jessica Alba evokes vintage Victoria's Secret catalogs. Proof that old is new again. You'd probably want to steer clear of the article, in which Jessi-ba talks about Cash Warren and losing the baby weight.…

The Obama Team, as Photographed by Annie Leibovitz for Vanity Fair Magazine

For Vanity Magazine's March 2009 issue, renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz captured our "kaleidoscopic army of policy aces, whiz kids, and veteran advisers, all focused on the long-haul, no-drama work to which Barack has called them."

Of the 14 photos of our country's executives, these two are my favorites:

Affordable Modern Art is Sold Hassle Free at 20x200.com

Though our appreciation for modern art runs deep, it's hard for us to find places to actually purchase these pieces for our home. Sure we could download something off the internet and print them away but we'd rather have high quality art from emerging artist that we can collect. Jen Bekman must have heard our cries because she's come up with a great website,… Continue

Gorgeous Windswept Fashion Photography By Yuri Tsai (7 Pics)

The name Yu Tsai might not be as commonplace as names like Annie Leibovitz or Steven Meisel but you can bet you've seen his work in familiar ad campaigns like Guess? or BCBG. Having shot everyone from drop dead gorgeous, Alessandra Ambrosio, to our favorite quirky singer Zooey Deschanel, Yu Tsai has also made a name for himself by working with famous models and… Continue

Cate Blanchett in Vanity Fair Magazine

The undeniable Cate Blanchett, captured by the one, the only, Annie Leibovitz for Vanity Fair's February 2009 issue. An astonishing talent, Blanchett is in my opinion, one of the greatest cinema sirens ever. I'll pretty much watch anything she does. By the way, go see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, you will be glad you did.

Cate is blessed with the distinguishable ability to… Continue

For the Love of Photography: JPG Magazine

I wish I'd known about JPG Magazine sooner. The online photography magazine, whose content consists solely of submissions from readers - is close to joining the fallen in the Publishing dead pool.

The e-magazine and its parent company 8020 Media was founded on a seed investment from Cnet founder Halsey Minor. Although the publication failed because of a doomed, antiquated business model (based on selling print ads, ughyee) and a clunky format (downloadable PDFs,… Continue

Anne Hathaway in Vogue

Apparently, Vogue loves Anne Hathaway. Granted, she sometimes calls to mind a girl Screech (with me, Grace?) but she sure looks great in couture, as demonstrated by the January 2009 issue of Vogue. The spread was photographed by Mario Testino, a favorite of Princes William and Harry.
