Pilobolus - Amazing and fun shadow dance troupe on the Conan O' Brian show.

Pilobolus takes creative dancing to another level. Here is a clip from Conan where they use shadows to trick your mind..

Pilobolus began as an experiment among three guys and one puzzled professor in a Dartmouth dance class back in 1970. It was survival of the giddiest, as the three non-dancers goofed around with the material they'd been given -- themselves -- and got entangled in science-inspired poses (think: "soft-belly protoplasmic thing") and movements.… Continue

Introducing the Japadog - A new kind of Hotdog: Vancouver BC

The Oroshi

As Annie and I were driving around to look for a place to eat in Downtown Vancouver a few months ago, we spotted this hotdog cart with a huge line. The sign on the cart said "Japadog". Could these Japadogs put the infamous LA bacon-wrapped we know and love to shame? And so the love affair began.

The Menu:

The Terimayo ($4.25) is the most popular. An all-beef dog, grilled and topped with nori… Continue

Urban HOTspot - The Kress: Hollywood

The four-story mega-club has opened its doors and it's drawing great reviews. The impressive venue is owned solely by Mike Viscuso who is best known for turning San Diego’s gas lamp district into a booming night life mecca. (he owns On Broadway and Deco’s) He certainly spared no expense at The Kress, with a basement club straight out of Las Vegas, a ground floor restaurant, a third floor lounge and a rooftop deck with “fire pits, a full service bar,… Continue

NEW MET SONG: "GAME'S PAIN" BY THE GAME (FEAT. KEYSHIA COLE)

New song uploaded to the music player. Great song about paying your dues and recognizing those that came before you.

Lyrics:

Hook:

See, ever since the day I got the chance to make a change,

I've been in this game, it's a new day, and I'm making it known cause, I just want the world to know, I'm paying my dues, and I got the utmost, I just wanna let you know, I'm paying homage cause you've paved the way for me,… Continue

Mercedes Marketing with Sex and the City

I thought that Mercedes was a great fit for the Sex and the City movie but I never saw this microsite. Pretty cool.

Mike Stilkey - Slightly All The Time @ Kinsey/DesForges Gallery: Culver City

Opening reception July 12, 7pm-10pm

What caught my eye about the work of Mike Stilkey isn't how he draws on paper, but how he draws on books. Using a mix of ink, colored pencil, paint and lacquer, Stilkey depicts characters that often seem deep in thought, somber, and sometimes whimsical. A Los Angeles native, Mike's work will be shown until August 16th at the Kinsey/DesForges Gallery with the opening ceremony on July 12th from… Continue

The Dark Knight crew remember Heath Ledger

Just from watching the trailer of the new Batman movie, Heath Ledger's electrifying performance as "The Joker" gives me chills. In this clip, Entertainment Tonight's Kevin Frazier sits down with Christian Bale, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Aaron Eckhart and Gary Oldman as they remember their late co-star.

Urban HotSpot - The Edison: Downtown LA

There is no doubt that the Edison is one of the most dynamic bars in all of Southern California. Previously downtown LA's first private power plant, the Edison provides an industrial rich atmosphere in a world class lounge. As you enter and go down the long grand staircase you get the sense of how large Edison really is. The vast space has plenty of seating, two long bars, and 1920's music accompanied by silent film that is projected onto the walls.… Continue

Griffith Observatory - See the real stars - not those fake hollywood ones!

If you have never been here or haven't been since it remodeled, Griffith Observatory is definitely worth checking out. The architecture of the building is amazing and I would recommend going right before sunset, as you and your date will surely enjoy a panoramic view of LA. The main attraction is the Samuel Oschin Planetarium Show, which is an IMAX on the ceiling. Wicked, I know...the show consists of informative info regarding… Continue
