Sharing Experiences - I Am Korean American

Yesterday, I received a nice email asking me if I would like to be a part of this new website called I Am Korean American. Usually, when I receive an email like this I take one quick look and if it doesn't grab me, I move on.

I spent a good part of this morning, however, reading through this site.… Continue

The Webbys and Five-Word Acceptance Speeches

Sir Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web, received the Webby Lifetime Achievement Award

The 13th annual Webby Awards took place at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on June 8, 2009.

The notoriously long ceremony featured what seemed like an endless stream of awards — while speeches were held to just five words.

Here are a few standouts --

Sir Tim Berners-Lee: "Free... open... Keep one web."

The Webbys and the Emcee

Saturday Night Live's Seth Meyers was a dope emcee at the 13th annual Webby Awards, which took place at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on June 8, 2009.

"I love when old media praises new media," he said. "It's like when an old guy says how much he likes the tennis pro his wife is fucking."

About the guy who tweets as his cat (and has 600,000+ followers), he said, "Just think: five years ago if you wanted to know what a guy… Continue

The Webbys and the Hubby

The 13th annual Webby Awards took place at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on June 8, 2009. For those of you who don't know, this is what funds Rachel Zoe's endless acquisition of vintage Halston gowns and fur coats (her husband Rodger Berman is the founder of the awards).

Rachel Zoe is my hero and I would never, ever stop watching her BRAVO reality show for as long as I live, or whenever the network cancels it, whichever comes first. But I thought her… Continue

Readability: Read the Web Without the Clutter

I'm all about simple and useful web apps that enhance the user experience. Readibility is a tool that takes away all the clutter of a web page and leaves you with simple text. Just choose your preferences (style, size, margin) and then drag the "Readability" link to your browser and push it whenever you come across an article you want to read.

Voila! It's like… Continue

Look who else is an ambassador...

Ready my essay

Our fearless leader Alice recommended me to the site. One hundred stories are to be chosen from among the entries invited globally. Each of the hundred entries will be featured on the One Web Day portal as the Story of the Day and ten out of the 100 entries will be chosen for interesting prizes along with a Certificate of Appreciation. The best of the 100 will be featured on the One Web Day on September 22 and… Continue

I'm All Mac & All Wireless

I am a geek...plain and simple. I realized that the smart thing to do was to go all Mac. I started working up ways to make the money to update my home office with Apple gear and I did it...a bit of store credit and the old office sold. I picked up a 24" iMac w/ wireless BT keyboard and mouse, and a Wireless printer. All I have left to get is Time Capsule & Apple TV and my home network will be fortified, unified and WiFied...

I wanted to scaled down my current setup which was a… Continue

The idea behind OneWebDay is to focus on key internet value (this year it is about online participation in democracy) and local internet concerns (connectivity, censorship,… Continue

The Web 2.0 World

A great article came out in Newsweek about two year ago now called "The New Wisdom of the Web". An old article but still very relevant information. As you can tell by this site, I'm a huge 'new media' junkie - we're living in an exciting time of change! It's a time where we want to express our individuality but where we also want to feel connected. I wanted to share a few excepts from that article:

What makes the Web alive is, quite… Continue
