I don't know how I stumbled across this relatively fresh photographic genre.... but I am LOVING it. Called "Bokeh," this form of photography thrives where other types fail. The blur. Bokeh describes the rendition of out-of-focus points of light. The term comes from the Japanese word boke (暈け or ボケ), which means "blur" or "haze", or boke-aji (ボケ味), the "blur quality". Whoever decided to run with this and work with it, I thank you. I stare into these…
I've been passing along the story of Kiva to all my friends, and my family, with the hopes they will follow in my footsteps and take the action to help. I heard about the site www.kiva.org from a friend, who is a bit obsessed with… Continue

Okay... so I'm a huge fan of Youtube, as most people who know me are aware... I love to find people who put their own unique spin on things, and this guy is certainly is. His name is Adrian Holovaty, and he's a musician from Chicago. He seems to have a pretty loyal following on youtube, and for only having played guitar since 1997, his work speaks for itself in it's sheer amazingness. He did a Radiohead remix contest and was even mentioned in Rolling Stone magazine. His… Continue

The best movie I have ever seen... without a doubt. I walked by the box for months, eyeing up the phrase "She will change your life.." and finally one day just checked it out. Ten years ago, and I could still watch this movie every day and never get sick of it.
If you have not seen the movie "Jeux D'Enfants" (Love me if you dare) you simply must... it is by far one of the most amazing films I have ever seen... and it runs a close second to my beloved "Le Fabuleux Destin D'Amelie Poulain " (Amelie). The cinematography is breathtaking, and the story is one you will never forget.
I'd love to hear from anyone who sees this, and hear what they think… Continue
Capt. Charles Moore of the Algalita Marine Research Foundation first discovered the Great Pacific Garbage Patch -- an endless floating waste of plastic trash. Now he's drawing attention to the growing, choking problem of plastic debris in our seas.
Is this a new era of hip hop / Rap videos? I heard this song a while ago, and fell in love with the beat, and looked up the video. I was amazed! I know there is some talk about the ladies in this video, as there are in just about every rap video ever made... but this video has no half naked hoochies in it!
I'll be honest, I'm no rap conoisseur, but I do enjoy an infectuous beat... and this song has it. And the fashion these boys are are sporting?… Continue
By far the most artistic, amazing video for alcohol I've ever seen. A group of artists comes together in locations around the world to create art pieces that spell out the philosophy of Absolut Vodka. You truly have to see it to believe it. You can also go to Facebook and see the behind the scenes on how it was…
I beg of you to watch this, and consider what is happening. The circus dubbed the "Greatest show on Earth," is in fact, the cruelest. Even if you don't like Peta, even if you don't approve of vegetarianism, animal activism, etc- you can't watch this and be left with the thought that it's okay.
I beg of you all to please speak out for the animals, and don't support any circuses that employ animal acts labeled "entertainment."
I came across Ann-Julie's work on Etsy, where I have a shop selling super kitschy jewelry. Her artwork is beautiful, and I thought I'd share it with you all :)
