What an awesome optical illusion! As part of a national campaign promoting McDonald’s restaurants, a downtown Vancouver lamp post appears to pour coffee into a giant cup on the sidewalk. At the time, McDonald’s was giving away free small cups of its brew for a two-week period, in an effort to attract new breakfast customers. The post was wrapped in brown vinyl…Continue

How I would have loved to seen this live! The Dark Room TV, a boutique motion graphics studio, was invited to do some video mapping projections at a secret festival in the North East of England. The theme and logo of the party was the heart. After spending a couple of weeks in the studio, they opened the party with this amazing show. My favorite part? Pac-Man, of course! (See 3:47)
At yesterday's Phillies v. Nationals game, a fan leaned over his upper deck seat and made a beautiful foul ball catch. After high-fiving his baby daughter, the guy gives her the ball. What does she do? She immediately throws it back. Classic!
I love how the dad looks shocked and then hugs his baby girl. You don't see that kind of real, raw emotion every day. He's almost as cool as Mark Huckabee and… Continue
While there may be tons of places where you can see jaw-dropping photo manipulations, I've found that it's harder to find photos that can actually tell a story. These are the ones that grab your attention. They subtly ask you to think about what kind of past led them to this… Continue

Anarkitty (Emma Geary) is a 31 year old artist from Northern Ireland. I stumbled onto her work today and immediately fell in love. Though it's easy to see that she's been influenced by pinup girls, manga, graffiti and toys you may not have guessed that her main source of inspiration comes from cats. Why? It is their "esoteric attitude encased in elegance and cuteness"…
`thundercake Back in July of 2008, when a girl named thundercake (aka Alexandra Prillaman) decided to ask her fellow artist friends to draw their past and present self together, I wonder if she knew it would become an internet…
He's Here PaperMonster is a stencil graffiti artist who spends hours adding layers and textures to his paintings. Inspired by women who are complex and unique, his collages are stories of "women who make their own path in life yet are unstoppable no matter the hurdles they face."
One of his mentors within the stencil graffiti and urban art world is Blek le Rat. As he…
Check out this cool typography film created by BYU design students and faculty, for the 5th Typophile Film Festival. It's a visual typographic feast about the five senses, and how they contribute to and enhance our creativity.
Last night the trailer for This Is It — the documentary capturing rehearsal footage for what would have been Michael Jackson’s epic return to the stage — premiered as the finale of the 2009 Video Music Awards. It was a spectacular preview of what fans can expect to see October 28th when the film hits theaters for a two week engagement.
Great news! Now there's even more reason to eagerly anticipate the arrival of DJ Hero. Looks like Daft Punk is bringing some exclusive mixes and mash-ups to the game!…
Next time you have some guests over, bust out these chat plates and get ready for a few chuckles. Quirky and charming, these plates were designed to resemble conversation bubbles from manga, or Japanese comics. They were designed by Ikuko Nakazawa and are available at the… Continue

If you love microwave popcorn but hate the bag, here's something for you. In 2008 Anni Nykänen won four awards for this popcorn concept bowl. Basically, it's a popcorn bag that transforms into a four-legged bowl. You won't have to stick your hands into a greasy bag or transfer your popped popcorn to a new bowl!…
Take art back down to its most basic form and you'll find something like this from Andy Awesome. The coolest part of his art is that he takes you on a walk down memory lane. Who doesn't remember blowing in their Nintendo cartridges trying to get Super Mario Bros to play?
Michael Jordan, often regarded as the most talented basketball player of all time, made an emotional speech, during his Hall of Fame induction ceremony at Springfield, Mass. yesterday. It was a speech filled with interesting stories about what drove him to such greatness. As he states, ""You look for any kind of message to get you motivated to play the game of basketball at the highest level."
The best thing about his speech, though, is that it shows you that… Continue
Love him or hate him, all Michael Moore really wants to do is expose the truth. Sure, his films can be a little (ok, very) one-sided but that doesn't mean we can't appreciate them for what they are.
The reviews are already starting to pour in on his newest film, Capitalism: A Love Story.
Our friends over at Babelgum Metropolis just told us about a cool contest they're putting on. They're looking for the globe’s best and edgiest artists for the world’s biggest art show. Winners will have their work shown on giant advertising screens in Times Square and will win cash prizes.

Beautiful yet haunting all at the same time, photographer Erin Mulvehill's underwater series is like nothing I've ever seen. As I look through each picture I'm frightened yet captivated. As one person states, "A photograph is usually looked at – seldom looked into."
"My work aims to explore the human connections and subtle nuances that whisper into the ear…
