Because you all have great tastes...

Okay, so I'm very excited about my new place. At first, I had a little bit of renter's remorse because the apartment is smaller than the place I was at before. The Brown Couch of Death was the most comfortable piece of furniture I've ever owned; I've fallen into blissful sleep on it many a nights. Because it's smaller, the BCOD wouldn't have fit in the new living room, so I got rid of it and the loveseat.

It turned out to be blessing in… Continue

A 224 Word Palindrome... Dammit I'm Impressed.

"Dammit I’m Mad"

by

Demetri Martin

Dammit I’m mad.

Evil is a deed as I live.

God, am I reviled? I rise, my bed on a sun, I melt.

To be not one man emanating is sad. I piss.

Alas, it is so late. Who stops to help?

Man, it is hot. I’m in it. I tell.

I am not a devil. I level “Mad Dog”.

Ah, say burning is, as a deified gulp,

In my halo of a mired rum tin.

I erase many men. Oh, to be man, a sin.

Is evil in a clam? In a… Continue

Shepard Fairey and the AP to Duke It Out Over Obama Image?

The Boston Herald reports, "Celebrity street scrawler Shepard Fairey yesterday slapped the Associated Press with a lawsuit, claiming he didn’t break the law when he used an AP photo to create the Warhol-like Barack Obama portrait that has made the tagger famous.

The lawsuit, filed yesterday, says Fairey didn’t violate the copyright of the April 2006 photo because he dramatically changed the nature… Continue

Ahh... it all makes sense now why the banking execs need $20 million bonuses.

I guess none of us just took the time to really contemplate how expensive it is being an exec in New York City before.

$35,000.00 a year for gowns.

$16,000.00 a year for vacations.

$45,000.00 for a nanny.

$75,000.00 - $125,000.00 a year for a driver.

So even if they're doing a terrible job, we have to keep paying them tons of money. Who else would be motivated to run their bank into the ground if we didn't? Could… Continue

Spend your Friday night saving something important to us all. The Pink Party.

Why spend your Friday night getting drunk, making a fool out of yourself, and hurting the next morning for nothing when you can be saving the tatas? Yes, you can still get drunk, make a fool out of yourself, and hurt the next morning, but at least you can feel better knowing that you did it for a good cause. 50% of your measly $10 cover charge goes directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (… Continue

Scientists were able to clone an extinct ibex, a relative of the goat. Though the kid only lived for seven minutes, it opened the door of possibility for science to clone other extinct animals.

... I think I've seen this… Continue

The People's Elbow...

... President Obama lays the smack down. A $500,000.00 salary cap on execs of firms that receive financial bailout money. Damn... I was going to apply to Citigroup and write on my resume that I wouldn't feel motivated to do my job unless they give me a $20 million bonus on top of my salary too. Foiled again.…
