Inspection
One of Austria’s most successful contemporary artists, Erwin Wurm certainly makes us squirm with Instructions On How To Be Politically Incorrect. Playing off various social taboos, his absurd scenarios make us think twice, and perhaps even laugh uncomfortably.
"There is not one rule which says this is art or this in not art. I think everyone has to define…

Imagine renting a bike, storing energy on it as you ride, and then receiving bus credit on a personal ID card based on how much energy you stored. Bikes could then be placed in a solar-powered bike rack, which would transfer the energy from the bike to the smart grid.
That's is the concept behind Chiyu Chen's Hybrid2 system. Through a fleet of rentable…

Using acrylic, ink, Flashe, marker, and spray paint, Vancouver-based Ben Tour has scared children with his artwork. Perhaps it's because of the unusually attractive, yet morbid expressions on his female subjects. Using splashes of color to convey outbursts of emotion, Tour uses his characters as an outlet for his own emotions.…

It's almost like Moscow-based Mecuro B. Cotto was listening to romantic music when taking these photographs. His models display such emotion with their body language and long lines. Here are some great shots from his portfolio.…

The Melbourne Recital Center and adjacent Melbourne Theater Company have recently won four of the highest honors at this year’s Victorian Architecture Awards.
Designed by Ashton Raggatt McDougal, these sexy theaters have very stylish exteriors with bright neon-styled beams that wrap around the buildings. It only gets better inside. One theater continues…
Show runs from July 10th - August 7th, 2009 @ Thinkspace Gallery: Los Angeles
One of our favorite artists, Stella Im Hultberg, made her return to Los Angeles this past Friday with her solo exhibit "Memento Mori” at the Thinkspace Gallery. Mixing it up a bit, she used a variety of mediums including deep-hued canvases, intricate pieces on wood and tea-stained paper, and even threw…

Continuing his tour of Europe, ABOVE sent us these photos of some urban street art he just completed on the Berlin Wall in Germany! Easily one of my favorite pieces, I love how he integrates word-play, site-specific art, and a human hand holding flowers in his latest piece! Make sure to check out the video below for a more in-depth look!
"This year marks…

I bet countless teenage boys around the world are jealous of American photographer, Houser. Using both black and white and color photography, Houser accentuates the beauty of women with vivid clarity. I get the sense that he knows what he wants in every photograph, given the bold look of his models.
Houser's deviantART portfolio
It's the angles in which fashion photographer Ronald Stoops takes his shots that makes me look twice. The Dutch photographer, who studied at t (13 photos)he Academy of Arts in Antwerp, has taken pictures for almost every Belgian designer over the last 15 years. Here are some of my favorite shots from his portfolio.
