Our Private Tour Inside the Newest Hollywood Hot Spot: W Hotel & Residences, Countdown to Oct 09!

If there is one thing I love about W Hotels, it's that they are truly committed to giving you an experience. Sure their Whatever Whenever policy leaves much to the imagination (oh lordy the stories they can tell you!) but you know that when they utter those words...they truly mean it. On my quest to find the next Hollywood hot spot, I asked for a private tour from their lovely sales manager, Miranda Blanton, who was not only kind enough to show us around but also give us the secret inside scoop!

This $600 million dollar development, at the corner of Hollywood and Vine, consists of 305 room W Hotel and 143 W Residences. The decor will be old Hollywood glam (think the Roosevelt but more chic) with modern twists. As LA's first and largest LEED certified property, it'll have energy efficient and water conserving touches throughout the property.

A few of their rooms (pretty pictures):

Now our pictures:

Kitchen - Kuppersbusch oven, stove and dishwasher highlight energy efficient and energy friendly components, Subzero refrigerator and wine cooler, Varenna kitchen cabinets and Caeserstone granite countertops

Closet - Huge walk-in closet with Poliform closet system that has built in shelves

Bathroom - Kohler cast iron bathtub, sink and double vanity

You can read all about it on their website and this list:

And here's a few inside scoop details:
+ French bistro restaurant (it's the hottest trend in LA right now)
+ Happenin night club and pool parties (we didn't expect any less)
+ Bliss Spa treatments in your room
+ Sweat Fitness - a premier fitness club; one at the residence and one at the hotel (you can use both)
+ Whole Foods market, Trader Joes and a Ruth's Chris are all coming into that area
+ Public art component - W is bringing in the artwork of three world renown artists to create a multi-sensory experience for its guests.

Austrian-born artist Erwin Redl uses LEDs as an artistic medium. His sparkling light display will line the parking passageway. Here's an example of his work:

Pae White is a Los Angeles-based artist that has become an influential name for a new generation of artists exploring color and space. Her work will transform the vertical space between the residences and the hotel.

Finally, Christian Moeller is a German born architect and artist who's large scale site specific works interrogate and explore the synergies between architecture and sound, technology and moving image. Integrated into the east wall of the plaza along the red carpet of the W Residences (yes, you read right...red carpet), Christian Moeller's work will dazzle!

Example of his work: 'Nosy' installation, Osaki City, Tokyo 2006

+ You ready for the biggest perk of all? If you become a residence you become a worldwide VIP member of all W Hotels. Tired of sitting in your million dollar residence and want to live it up like the girls from Gossip Girls? Hop on over to the hotel side where you get full access to their pool, their club and their spa, VIP style!

Ranging in price from the high $800Ks to $9.5 mill for 980 sq feet to 3,200 sq feet, these babies won't be cheap. But then again, you're paying for the amentities!

Overall?: A beautifully designed residence made for the person who loves the glitz and glamour of Hollywood but wants to be pampered like you're from 90210. (Not the tv show, I'm talking the real deal.) For the ultimate jet setter or the bachelor, I can see this place working for those people who have to be bicoastal, who need that hip happenin place in LA. When this gets built out, it'll be like a Vegas resort, you'll never have to leave the area...it'll all be right at your fingertips.

Thank you, Maranda, for giving theMET access into what's sure to be the next hot spot! We can't wait till you guys officially roll out the red carpet!
