Obama's Inauguration: A Day of Celebration and Food!

Oh baby it's coming! On Tuesday, January 20th, the world welcomes the United States' 44th president into office. I'm sure by now you've heard about the 100 unofficial balls and parties in DC, where headliners will include rapper Jay-Z, Elvis Costello, Sting and hip-hop singer Rihanna.

We had so much fun on election day, Eugene and I will be reporting from one of these gatherings in LA.

And for those of you who like to celebrate by eating your way through this day, Eater LA is hooking you up with info:

Krispy Kreme is again giving out free donuts on that day. The Melting Pot in Pasadena and Torrance has free chocolate fondue for those who get the special three-course menu. There are events at The Abbey in West Hollywood, Rush Street in Culver City, and Senor Fish will have an extended happy hour downtown. Akasha in Culver City will have a Mexican-themed menu (inspried by Obama's favorite Chicago chef, Rick Bayless), and there's a gala at Cicada downtown.
