Creative Art Inspired by Oscar's Best Picture Nominees

To get you excited for this year's Oscars, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has teamed up with Gallery1988 to present their first collaborative exhibition featuring art inspired by Oscar's Best Picture Nominees. Called "For Your Consideration," the show brings together a small group of young international artists, including names you may be already be familiar with like Matt Owen and Tom Whalen - to create original screen prints that give new depth and meaning to each film.

While artist Jeff Boyes' solemn depiction of Lincoln immediately grips you, artist Godmachine's Zero Dark Thirty piece carries with it a hidden meaning - the original darker image, visible in normal lighting, reveals a detailed second version only in the dark.

"For Your Consideration" will also include 12 illustrations of memorable Oscar moments by Oliver Barrett and other Oscar-inspired work by My Modern Met favorite Olly Moss. The exhibition will be held at Gallery1988's Melrose location from February 14 to February 17.
