10 Outstanding Entries in 2014 National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest

Back in March, we first told you about the start of the 2014 National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest, one of the most exciting contests for those passionate about traveling and photography. Now in its 26th year, the contest asks anyone with a camera to show National Geographic their best travel experiences. The four categories you can submit your photos in are Travel Portraits, Outdoor Scenes, Sense of Place, and Spontaneous Moments.

You can check out some of the early entries, here. Courtesy of National Geographic, here are ten more outstanding images that will inspire you to pick up your camera, pack your bags, and head off on your own crazy adventure!

Hurry back, though. You now only have until June 30 to submit your photos for a chance to win the grand prize, a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Alaska.

Cub Scouts Honor
Location: Alaska-Chigmit Mountains
While watching her mother dive for salmon in the frigid glacier water of the Crescent River, this young brown bear cub couldn't contain her excitement and stood up on her rear legs and politely made a waving direction towards me. In a matter of one hour this young cub ate several salmon that were provided by her intelligent and fearless mother. Deep in the Alaskan wilderness this brown bear family provided my favorite image of the year.
