Most of you like vodka. Vodka-soda, vodka-cranberry, vodka-tonic, etc. Not me. I'm a whisky guy. That's why when I walked into Seven Grand and saw that they served over 200 kinds of whisky, I felt at home. The sylish whisky bar is dark and is decorated like a private hunting-club (stuffed moose heads with big antlers on the wall), with pool tables, and a good sized outdoor smoking patio with seating.
Shots of whisky cost between $7 and $120, and come with nitrogen-formed ice cubes that melt slower than standard ice cubes and won't water down your drink. Bourbon-dipped cigars are also available.
If it's beer you want, Seven Grand is the first bar in L.A. to have a Nitrogenator NX — a contraption that keeps beer temperature consistent from the keg to the spout and prevents bubbles from entering the line, making, what they claim, the best pint of Guinness in the city.
