The Human Race - Nike 10k: All around The world

On August 31st, Nike is hosting the Nike+ Human Race, the world’s largest one-day running event. Hundreds of thousands of people are anticipated to take to the streets. The race will be being held in 25 cities around the world and will start in Taipei and end in Los Angeles.

For all the lucky participants in LA, Kanye West is set to perform in the post race concert as part of the grand finale performance at the LA Coliseum. “I’m hitting the stage in Los Angeles for the Nike+ Human Race, Nike's dopest 10k run ever. This race is bringing together hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world to run and listen to some great music while serving a higher cause, and I’m excited to perform in L.A. as part of the grand finale.”

How far is 10K?
6.2 miles.

When is the race?
Sunday, August 31, 2008, 8:31:08pm

What is the cost to participate?
The registration fee is $35. Together, Nike and runners will raise funds to donate at least USD $3 million to the Lance Armstrong Foundation, the UN refugee agency’s ninemillion.org and WWF.

Will there be registration on event day?
No. There will be no event day registration. You must register in advance.

I think this race is replacing the Run Hit Wonders and the Run Hit Remixes - where a band would play every mile mark. Me and Stacy are kind of bummed bc it's a yearly tradition where we cheat (on the 5k) and this year it sounds like real race where it might be difficult to do so...but the Nike shirts they give to participants are cool enough that we might find a way to cheat this year too!! YIPPEE!!
