Pavilion of Wings @ The Natural History Museum - ends 9/1

The Natural History Museum presents "Pavilion of Wings" for it's tenth summer. In the pavilion, visitors can walk among hundreds of free-flying butterflies and moths, including more than forty different butterfly and moth species like giant swallowtails, American painted ladies and California dogfaces-California's state butterfly. Besides learning about the life cycles, defense mechanisms, environments and migratory patterns of the bugs, guests observe caterpillars feeding on leaves, watch butterflies suck nectar and learn which plants to cultivate in a garden in order to attract a butterfly population at home.

Tips:
-Want to get surrounded by a cloud of butterflies? The museum suggests wearing bright colors and strong-smelling perfume.

Prices:
$3 for adults
$2 for seniors and students
$1 for children ages 5 to 12

Hours:
Monday-Friday - 9:30am-5pm
Saturday-Sunday - 10am-5pm
