Pop and Urban Art Show For a Good Cause: Project 57 in Escondido, Now-Sept 6

If you're looking for a cool art exhibit and you're in the San Diego area...

What: "Project 57" will feature works of figurative pop and urban surrealism from 110 artists representing five countries. "These paintings are often inspired by our culture, comics, Japanese Anime, surrealism, pop art and hot rods," gallery owner Melissa Inez Walker explained. All gallery commissions to benefit the Lewy Body Dementia Association in memory of gallery owner Melissa Walker's dad, Charles Leslie Walker.

Why: To pay tribute to the artistic spirit of and honor the memory and life of Charles Leslie Walker who passed away after a decade long battle with lewy body dementia (LBD), a progressive brain disease and the second leading cause of degenerative dementia in the elderly.

Where: Distinction is a 7000 square foot building which houses a gallery and 14 artist studios ranging in size from 150 to 800 square feet. The Gallery features contemporary and cutting edge art work with a soft focus on Urban Surrealism. Distinction exhibits work by emerging and internationally acclaimed artists and is located at: 317 East Grand Avenue, Escondido, CA 92025. Map
