Alice and I checked out the Royal/T studio today, a 10,000 square foot art space, cafe, and retail store, which opened up a couple weeks ago. Just Love Me is the art studio's opening exhibition, which explores the complexity of cuteness, and the yearning it reveals in artistic expression today. We took a second to sit down and have lunch, and while being served by Japanese girls in maid costumes, we were fortunate enough to speak with the owner, Susan Hancock, who was really nice. Here are some pics of our adventure. if you are going to the Culver City Artwalk tomorrow or happen to pass through, definitely check out this cool space.

in regards to the food, it's definitely more of a cafe than a full blown restaurant. they're still working out the kinks (bro's salmon came out raw, then overcooked, after we mentioned it to them) but waitresses are super attentive and they even gave us a free dessert for our troubles. go for a nice afternoon of tea, just to enjoy the interesting art and space.

they have a real cool private room with modern furniture for intimate parties (think baby shower, birthday, etc) that they rent out. during normal business hours it's $150 per hour for the space (not including food). if you don't want to have your special occasion at a hotel, try out this unique spot.
