Blair of Gossip Girl Born in Jail

Why do we love this item? Because we love to discover that the stuck-up rich girl is not so primp and proper after all - hence why Cruel Intentions, Gossip Girl, and Princess of Monaco scandals rock, and why the latest news about Leighton Meester, the actress seemingly just as uptown as her character Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl, also rocks.

This week's Star Magazine will reveal that Leighton Meester was born while her mother was serving a federal prison sentence in Texas for drug running. The mom was allowed to stay in a halfway house for the birth, but had to return to prison on the day Leighton turned three months. The future star was raised by a relative while mom served out her sentence.

None of those details appear in the actress' bio, which falsely lists the young star as being born in Marco Island, Fla., where her parents moved in the late '80s.

And Leighton's mom isn't the only member of her family with a record — her father, grandfather and aunt all did hard time in federal prisons for drug dealing.

What I would like to know is - What types of drugs??

I actually like her more after this. Besides, life must suck having to stand next to that beautiful, effervescent being called Blake Lively - who could blame her for looking a bit frigid and stand-offish?

BTW grace I'd love to hear your thoughts on Gossip Girl fashion.

i know you asked for fashion critic Mrs. Grace Linker to divulge her opinion on GG fashion, but I have to chime in here. I LOVE GG FASHION. it's so young and fun...you probably won't ever find a real 16 year old wearing $3,000 Chanel boots, but in make believe world it's kinda fun to look at.=)
