there's a new trend among runners: the so-called midfoot strike. focused more on landing on the middle of your foot, it's a running style that's considered more "natural," more like running barefoot or in the sand. the arguments for midfoot striking are that it distributes the shock of impact more evenly, and that it strengthens the feet and legs more effectively than the more typical heel-strike running style mandated by almost every running shoe on the market.
many competitive athletes are now using midfoot strike shoes in their training, and then racing in their heel strike shoes. some of the proponents are so gung-ho about midfoot striking that they even use them to race now.
so. midfood strikers. nerd, or ninja?
and more importantly, should i get them in black, or grey/green?
oh, and why do they call them five FINGERS?!?
