My Modern Metropolis

In commercial real estate, Banks are up there near the top of snore design, which doesn't make sense for an industry so dependent on differentiated service and customer experience (they all offer the same product, after all). But improvements are on the way.

Several new bank design concepts are in the works, and some have been launched recently, including CheBanca! in Milan by Crea International. The concept for CheBanca! (translation: What a bank!) reflects the brand’s simplicity, transparency and innovation. As you can see, branding no longer means just an orange logo.

Looks like a cool place. Not only can you send wires and purchase travel cheques, maybe you can also eat fro-yo and talk space travel with chicks dressed in Jetson-style minis.

The craziest bank I've seen by far remains Berlin's DZ Bank, designed by none other than Frank Gehry.
