Design House Stockholm's Carrie Bicycle Basket ($60)
After lunch with some girlfriends at Axe in Abbott Kinney yesterday, one of the girls, Silvie led me and Theresa to this modern looking store called
A+R. A+R stands for Andy and Rose, two very interesting people who have a love for modern design. They opened a store in Silverlake in 2005, started an online store the next year and just last year they opened the Abbott Kinney store that we happened to visit yesterday.
What I instantly loved about this store was that it had a healthy collection of items I had been coveting for quite some time now. Andy and Rose travel the world, meet with designers and bring back items they find cool enough for their store. In fact, I love this statement, "we love talking about the designers we find locally and from afar, because it only goes to show that this brilliant and bold community is not so much distinguished by geographic or cultural boundaries but bound by the pursuit of aesthetics and innovative ideas."
If you're looking for something unique, for the girl who has everything, (hint hint: SiMonster) check out A+R.
