On our quest to find more gems of Silver Lake, Annie and I headed over to Say Cheese on
Vic's recommendation. Thanks Vic! Say Cheese is more like a gourmet deli than a cafe. On their menu is a wide range of cold and hot sandwiches that run from $10-$12.

The inside of the restaurant. I like their wallpaper.

Annie ordered the Ortolano: Roasted eggplant, sun-dried tomato tapenade with fresh mozzarella and parmesan melted on ciabattina. Per Annie, "It was really flavorful and the fresh mozzarella melted in my mouth."

I ordered the Classic Tuna Melt: White Albacore tuna salad, cheddar cheese, alfalfa sprouts, tomato, dijon, and aioli on rosemary bread. Yum! It was really creamy and delicious but not too overpowering. Totally hit the spot!
Overall, Annie and I were blown away by the taste of their sandwiches. At $10-$12 a piece, the sandwiches aren't necessarily cheap, but you get what you pay for. I love places that do the basics right, and Say Cheese does exactly that. If you find yourself in Silver Lake and are looking for a lunch spot, look no further.
