So Sam and I set out for Hollywood & Highland today to check out a few key sights, one of them being
The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The Roosevelt Hotel is pretty gosh darn old, having first been built 1927 but it was remodeled in 2005 by designer Dodd Mitchell making it a hot spot now for young celebs. Here's a quick history of the place on
Wikipedia.
As we first walked in we noticed that it was super dark but I liked the Spanish Colonial decor...I mean how can you go wrong with a black chandelier? :)

Next, we had lunch at 25 Degrees, which refers to the temperature difference between a medium rare and well done burger. Burger was actually really good - it was the ground sirloin that made it juicy and delicious. You also got to choose from a selection of cheeses and you basically build your own burger. Herb fries were super delish.

Loved the textured wallpaper and the hottie that I had Sam take a picture of. Sis, Grace, swears this is Dave Annable from Brothers and Sisters but most likely not...Either way, he was a true hottie! (That's me in the corner, Sam's pretending to take a picture of me...yes, I am shameless.)

The service was pretty great - they didn't have that pretentious air that you would expect from a Hollywood hot spot. Connor, our waiter, was a pretty cool cat...

Had to check out the pool while we were there...

So our take? The hotel had this cool, modern vibe going with the dark decor. We didn't get to check out a room so couldn't give you that assessment. Pool was kinda boring - good eye candy but it wasn't up to the standards of a W or Viceroy. Burgers were pretty good but we ended up spending about $35 for two burgers, fries and a coke...you are definitely paying a little extra for the environment. Would I be back? Probably not...the work involved in getting to the restaurant from the Westside is a bit much. I'll take a Fatty any day (Fatburger).
