uWink - i had such hope.

So after Sam and I had some hamburgers on Friday at 25 Degrees, we decided to stroll on over to uWink to check this place out. I walked in - excited about checking out the bar - the first touch screen interactive bar of its kind in the US - but when we asked the hostesses about it, we were given a blank stare. Apparently, they weren't trained on it. (This was the first bad sign). Overall the place looked like a cybercafe or a scaled back Dave & Busters. (not a good thing)
Sam and I hopped on the bar and decided to try it out. Only bad thing was..it kept freezing up (second bad sign).

Undettered, we marched on. Tried out the computer kiosks at the tables. Pretty easy to figure out the games and order drinks or food. A server came right up to us and showed us some pretty fun games. Full from our hamburgers, we just ordered some drinks.

The VP, Jon, heard us talking to our server and came over to give us a full explanation of the place. Really nice guy, he explained how this was a software company first and the restaurant was there to more-or-less showcase the software (you could tell).

In any case, he walked us back outside and showed us a really cool motion detecting game.

Overall - the place has a lot of kinks to work out. The bar that froze up was a real downer, didn't try the food so couldn't tell you if it was good, best thing was that you could pay using your credit card at the table so you didn't have to wait for a waiter to bring over the bill. They didn't quite nail it with the environment. Give me an experience - give me a place where I want to go - try a little.
Nice people, Jon even invited us to a VIP party this week - but I wouldn't waste my time.
