So after spending way too much on lunch the other day, I wanted to find something cheap and delicious in LA (you know, ease the guilt). After
Yelping around, we found some awesome reviews on this hole-in-the-wall cafe called Tokyo 7-7. Two words really brought us to this little find...portuguese sausage. Oh yeah.
Love how they had stickers of Yelp on their window,

The place is on a little alley street in Culver City, between Venice and Culver. A Yelper had said to park in the parking structure off of Cardiff, which we did....after that it was an easy find.
We walk in and immediately feel the old school vibe going on, like a '70s cafe lost in time.

Funny pictures on the walls, like Ponch from CHIPs...so classic.

The waitresses are all elder Japanese grandmas, I just loved the authenticity of it all.

Was a little hot bc we got seated away from the air conditioning but other than that, I have got to say the service was awesome, the food was delicious, and we only paid $22 bucks for four dishes and two cups of coffee!
Want to show you the menu in case you want to go. It was a good mix of American and Japanese food.

Here is one of the dishes - portuguese sausage omelette rice was so good - a perfect mix of onion, green onion, egg, sausage...all over rice.

Portions were perfect size, left us content.
Going to make this our new hangout on Saturday mornings. This place is closed Sundays. If you get there before 11am...you can get a meal for $2.35!

Tips:
Definitely park in the free structure on Cardiff, you'll see the place right when you walk out, by the elevator
Try to get there before 11am for some really cheap eats
Sit next to the AC on a hot day (near the front door), the back of the restaurant can get hot
Take food to go - it's so cheap it beats even going to the market!
Who's this place for?
People who want to feel like they've stepped back in time, who like good food at great prices.
