Nature-Inspired Woven Stainless Steel Sculptures by Michelle Mckinney

In her Seed collection, artist Michelle Mckinney uses ultra fine woven metal to create ethereal, nature-inspired works of art. These large scale pieces, that can measure up to 1.2 meters in width, are made by hand cutting, forming and coloring hundreds of tiny elements. First, the woven stainless steel pieces are shaped to look like bright and beautiful leaves. Then, using fine entomology pins, the artist assembles each of these pieces together into circular or oblong shapes.

The close-up shots of these abstract works will make you appreciate them even more. Notice the fine detail that goes into the making of each piece.
