The Scorpion, built by the
Ronn Motor Company, does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of +200 mph, but gets approximately 40 mpg. It does this by using a Hydrogen/Gasoline blend as opposed to a hybrid system which relies on an electric motor. With the hydrogen on demand system, the Scorpion doesn't need the high pressure hydrogen tanks, but instead will use an onboard water tank to derive it's hydrogen. At an estimated MSRP of $150,000, this may just be the green solution for the future of sports cars, but there will only be 200 built this year so better make your reservation soon.
