My Modern Metropolis

There's no denying the fact that most of us have pretended to be actors. Our friend shouts out some creative story and in an instant we become these make-believe characters - drug dealers, CEOs, princesses or policemen.

Photographer Howard Schatz took this idea one step further. In 2006, he released a book called In Character: Actors Acting. He put himself in the director's chair, coming up with dramatic scenes that 100 actors of stage, screen and television would pretend to be a part of. He not only took these actors' portraits, he also interviewed them to ask them about their creative process.

Vanity Fair liked the idea so much that they asked Schatz to continue this project with some of the biggest and brightest names in Hollywood. Since 2006, these hilarious, one-on-one improvisations have been featured in the magazine. Here are some of our favorites.

I enjoyed every single one of these! This is just brilliant! I like how it's comedic. Sometimes, what I like best about acting is how funny the person is. :) Thanks for sharing alice!
