Eminence is a series of figurative sculptures by New York-based artist Adam Tarakhan that are each made of steel wire wrapped in dyed and painted fabric. The figures, which were originally part of the artist's senior thesis project and have since been installed in multiple venues, seem to scale the walls of their specific site, continually reaching for greater heights toward an ambiguous destination.
Though the ultimate goal for these adventurous characters are unclear, they seem bent on escape. Like an army of mummies awakening in a museum and desperately seeking a way out, the figures work together to maneuver around their surrounding environment. Currently, the sculptures are installed at Jack's Sliders and Sushi as part of a group exhibition titled Braulic Intricacy that will be running through October 6, 2013.
