Airstream Introduces a Tiny New Trailer for Only $35,000

Cruise down any American expressway, and you’re likely to spot at least one giant, googie trailer hitched to the back of a car or truck.

A product of Airstream, these timeless “silver bullets” have dotted the country’s highways and byways since 1931. Though known for its Classic model—a retro caravan that reaches 31 feet in length and $135,000 in price—the iconic company has recently introduced a smaller and more affordable alternative: the Basecamp.

At only 16 feet long, this tiny trailer has everything you need to enjoy the great outdoors from inside. With its cozy double bed, shower-equipped bathroom, heating and air conditioning, and ample USB ports, the Basecamp allows you to hit the open road with the comforts of home in tow. And if campfire cuisine isn’t your thing, you can cook up a storm in its compact kitchen, complete with a stovetop, microwave, sink, and fridge.

Now, at just $35,000—a fraction of the classic model’s cost—you can finally jump on the Airstream bandwagon.
