Designed by Omiros One Architecture (the same people who designed the YAS Island Yacht Club) the Ala Moana House sits on Hamilton Island in the Great Barrier Reef. This beautiful home is designed to capture as much of the summer winds as possible while avoiding the winter gales.
The house is specifically designed to break up the mass and minimize the impact on the surroundings. O1A used four separate roofs in winglike shapes at different heights to achieve this effect. More pics and some of the architectural renderings are below (all from O1A).
