Amazon’s New Biodome Headquarters in Seattle

Amazon has just revealed plans for their brand new headquarters in Seattle, Washington. Designed by architecture firm NBBJ, the concept is slated to consist of three, five-story-high glass biodomes. The transparent globes will house retail, dining, and work space, along with various unique botanical zones from around the world. By incorporating a natural setting in the work environment, employees will feel more relaxed and happier. “The generative idea is that a plant-rich environment has many positive qualities that are not often found in a typical office setting,” states the design brief published by NBBj.

What Amazon is trying to do is very reminiscent to what Apple, Google, and other companies have done, in creating a unique office space while also incorporating sustainability and nature. The glass spheres aren't the only part of the headquarters, with Amazon buying up three blocks of downtown Seattle, each to feature a 37-story-high office building to accommodate for all the employees. The designs have already caused a rift in public opinions with various responses ranging from full-hearted support to outright aversion. What do you think of the proposed new headquarters?
