Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg have taken something used for mindless fun and turned it into a high art form. Animated GIFs are usually seen on teenage girls' My Space pages and they're usually full of glitter, unicorns, and flashing text. These two have taken that banal form and used it to create some really beautiful and moving images.

These great images speak to us from the '30s or '40s. I really like the style they use. You can see much more of their beautiful work at their website From Me to You.

These gifs are amazing, i've tried to create some myself but they do not manage to appear as smooth and clear as these, also i always have an issue with file size. i compress the video extract i would like to use, but they get nowhere near as small as these files, whats the secret ?
