Kaplan has moved well beyond those pesky SAT courses we all knew about years ago. With their new ad campaign that launched a couple of nights ago on primetime television, they have seriously challenged traditional higher education. It's a strong message they are conveying and this is a great time for them to do this with so many people unsure about their careers during this economic downtime.
What is your take on the message? Personally, I agree with them on a lot of points. it's one of the reasons why I started working at a non-traditional college. I think with all of our advances in technology, the classroom has sort of become obsolete. People are learning at different paces and information is so easy to access. I don't think online education will completely replace the traditional classroom anytime soon, but it will be a viable option to those that think out of the box.
Love the ad - gave me chills. You bring up an interesting point, Duc, about non-traditional colleges. You can argue both sides, I guess, but looking back on my own college education I feel as though I missed out on the whole experience by not going to class more frequently.
