Back to the Future II-Inspired Sneakers Up for Auction

Great Scott! Nike is auctioning off 1,500 pairs of limited edition shoes that look like the ones worn by Marty McFly (aka Michael J. Fox) in Back to the Future II! They've been teasing its release with this video of McFly's closet and now it's real. Called Nike MAGs, these futuristic shoes feature glowing LED panels and an electroluminescent Nike logo on the strap. The lights turn on with a pinch of the high-top's ear. It was designed to be a precise replica of the original shoe. Well, except for the self-tightening laces.

Nike is currently auctioning off the 1,500 pairs on eBay. They were first released last night at 8:30 p.m. PST. It will be a 10-day auction, with 150 pairs auctioned off each day. All net proceeds will go towards fighting Parkinson's disease thanks to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

So how much will they set you back? If you really want them, get ready to spend thousands...
