BMW Delivers the Ultimate Mobile Experience (4 pics)

BMW has always embraced Apple products, which makes sense because they target the same demographic - young professionals. Keeping up with this tradition, the German car brand plans to introduce its new ConnectedDrive sytem at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, which includes integration with the iPad.

BMWs will soon feature iPad docking bays on back seats, which swivel and rotate. Using ConnectedDrive, the car will act as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, allowing iPads and other devices to connect online.

And for all you Blackberry users, BMW hasn't forgotten about you. Blackberry users will have the ability to access email, which can be read aloud with ConnectedDrive's text-to-speech function.

Lastly, BMW is expanding its integration with Google. When a destination is entered into the car's navigation system, images of the location can now be displayed in the car's on-board monitor thanks to Google Panoramio, the Google Earth service that maps user-uploaded photographs.

I'm still waiting for a full-blown Apple to vehicle collaboration. I wish the entire center console of the new Audi A4, for example, was a fully-integrated Apple design with iPad-like touch screen management of the entire vehicle's systems. I can dream, can't I?
