My Modern Metropolis

The Free life seems to be so far far away, but in such short reach.
And if I try harder, maybe I could get there soon. Soon enough to enjoy it.

What is it about these photographs that make me want to be in California more than other photo's do? They're not idyllic images of sun kissed places with perfectly presented California vista's. These photo's have something quirky about them, something that's evokes a question. And I want to go there to check them out for myself.

Liz Kuball did a great
job taking these pictures, because they feel more human and real to me than the ones in travel brochures which present a manicured version of a place...any place. I guess I simply I prefer to live a reality, no matter if the sun shines or not.

I've asked a dear friend of mine, Isachy, to look at these pictures with me and as we were chatting along she told me what she thought about them. I've put her thoughts underneath some of the images.

Everything is not what it seems.
But it could be as beautiful, if you gave it a chance to show its true colors.
Or maybe a reflection is all it needs.

Protection is only a fear of assault. All you need is to open a door.
