In 2003, David Jimenez paid $500,000 for a 1,600-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bathroom Modernist tract home. After ripping, painting and glossing over all that he didn't like, he decorated the house in a Kelly Wearstler/Jonathan Adler-esque modern style, bringing in flea market finds and reupholstering old furniture.
How did it turn out? Well, you almost have to ask yourself if this is a chic hotel or actually someone's house!
If you'd like to stay at this modern retreat, Jimenez rents it out. Don't be afraid if it looks overdone, most of the furnishings are "second-hand finds: old end tables, a large cabinet and chests of drawers were coated with white or black semi-gloss paint." It's the new, vintage-inspired wallpaper that gives each room a fresh perspective.
