Enchanting Cloud of 1,100 Umbrellas Suspend Above a Grand Hall

An installation of over 1,000 fanciful white umbrellas floated overhead at the 2015 Habitare Design Fair, infusing the space with a dreamy atmosphere. The installation was the brainchild of environmental artist Kaisa Berry and creative director Timo Berry of BOTH. This event, which is an annual interior design trade fair for both professionals and the public, provided international exhibitors the opportunity to present on the latest trends in their field, and the wide array of displays showcased upcoming furniture and interior decoration.

The plastic umbrellas provided a whimsical backdrop for the event, reflecting lovely blue and purple hues throughout the Ahead Arena. Looking like an enchanting cloud overhead, the suspended installation set the scene for creators and designers to come together and explore their industry.

Habitare, which took place over the course of five days (September 9-13), is just one part of the Helsinki Design Week, the largest design festival in the Nordic countries which draws internationals from within the design field.
