Ceiling Clouds Made with 25,000 Wooden Sticks

Inspired by mysterious cloud images at the Izumo Grand Shrine, Takeshi Sano came up with a unique design for the ceiling of Tsujita restaurant in Los Angeles, California. The Japanese designer took 25,000 wooden sticks with different lengths and spaced them out strategically to create a stereoscopic effect in the form of wooden clouds. Sano says his goal is to share the delicate beauty of Japanese culture, while instilling the desire in others to visit his beloved homeland.
