My Modern Metropolis

When's the last time you watched a movie? Was it in an actual movie theatre or on one of several screens that surround you? This was a cover illustration for The New York Times, about all the different ways consumers now watch movies. It's one of many cool and clever pieces by illustrator and comic artist Mickey Duzyj. Check out his website for more.

This piece captures the current cultural moment brilliantly. On a recent trip my flight was diverted and I wound up spending a couple of hours with three other flights at a gate in a small town airport. I'd say 90% of the people waiting were engrossed in one kind of screen or another.

So much to see, I could look at all the details for hours.
