Colorful Vector Portraits of Old Hollywood

Italy-based photographer, graphic designer, and illustrator Alessandro Pautasso enlivens celebrity portraits with his keen eye for color. The young vector artist, who also goes by the name Kaneda, presents his personal interpretations of classic stars like Bette Davis, John Wayne, James Dean, Frank Sinatra, and Greta Garbo in a psychedelic way.

The works in his Abstract Colors project have incorporate multihued geometric shapes that seem to filter and alter the natural colors within the image while retaining the subject's shape and form. The images really pop because of Pautasso's wild color palette. The shapes and the patterns are reminiscent of 80s fashion fads and pop culture trends. Though many people want to forget the fashion faux pas of the punk-pop-infused era, this series is truly one to remember.
