My Modern Metropolis

Did someone say decorated trash bins? Sign me up! Jacob Livengood, a graphic designer and illustrator from San Diego, California, recently painted a black trash bin for Coachella 2011, successfully transforming an overworked and under-appreciated item into a work of art! It's a 180 degree turn as beautiful colored marks, dots and one-of-a kind illustrations adorn these badass bins.

i've encouraged neighbourhoods to do this as a form of placemaking and expression of identity as a cohesive community. an easy way to brighten the streets, give people an artistic outlet, get to know your neighbours and make a garbage man's day!
