Do you have what it takes to be the Digital Camera Photographer of the Year? While our own photo contest is still going on, I wanted to let you know of another that you can enter. Digital Camera Photographer of the Year is a world-leading competition for anyone with a passion for digital photography. It's open to both amateurs and professionals from all over the world. The competition is organized by UK's top photography magazine, Digital Camera.

PhotoRadar, the sister website of Digital Camera magazine, sent us photos of some of last year's winners so you can see what the best of the best look like.

“We’ve made a few changes to the contest this year, and while 2010 will be tough to top, we’re very positive about POTY 2011 judging by the entries we’ve seen already," Deputy Editor of PhotoRadar Jeff Meyer told us. "One of the great things about Digital Camera Photographer of the Year is that because it’s a global competition we’re able to give a platform to photographers who’s images we might never see otherwise. It’s quite humbling to see how many great photographers there are in the world, and we hope to see many new faces this year.”

  • Definitely. Every little detail stands out: the pose, the facial expression, the palor, the bubbles . . . although, if I stare at it for too long, the bubbles start looking like angel wings.
  • That first photo is stunning!
