The unusual artwork of David Buckingham is on display at the Packer Schopf gallery in Chicago until November 14th. Buckingham is from LA. He goes out to junkyards and into the desert where he scavenges for metal that he cuts, welds, and recycles into new and far more interesting forms. Here are a few of his pieces that I really like. If you want to see more go here or better yet take a road trip to Chicago. (i've heard that you can get some good pizza there).
