If you've ever been curious about the art and design that went on behind-the-scenes during the Obama campaign, you'll want to check out this new book, Designing Obama. The Design Director of the Obama campaign, Scott Thomas, collaborated with artists and designers to present the inside story on how design was used by the campaign, both professionally and on a grass-roots level. The 360-page book is full-color and hardbound. The interesting thing about this book is how it's being sold. Opposed to going the conventional publishing route they’ve decided to publish, promote and print it themselves. They are funding it (in a similar manner as the campaign) through Kickstarter. This project will only be funded if at least $65,000 is pledged by Nov 5, 12:59am EST. You can pledge from $10 for a digital version to $150 or more for a special edition book with an embossed GOLD sleeve. It's an interesting and cool way to get the project funded and the books sold.
