Having now watched it, I can imagine that many will be wowed by those all those numbers. I spend about a third of my time on web development so I'm afraid I get a bit jaded by these familiar lists, hence my rather dismissive comment (sorry if it came across as personal). The biggest increase of all is arguably in the 'signal-to-noise' ratio!

frankly, i've run into a lot of ppl that would think this prediction is pretty radical, or at least exciting enough to fly to NY to attend this conference. watch the vid when you get the chance. i agree w/you that this prediction will happen very soon. i'm not sure what moore's law is so i'll have to get back to ya on that one. ;-)

Frankly speaking - and I admit I haven't watched the video - this prediction is about as radical as saying water is wet. I'd bet that this milestone occurs well before 2020. Several developing nations already have far more mobile phones in use than fixed-lines, which will continue to increase exponentially given that the infrastructure build-out costs are lower. 'Mobile device' is a very broad category, also. Apart from Moore's Law, it seems to me that almost all tech-related forecasts and predictions turn out to be hopelessly wrong in either direction, timewise.
