Eric Clapton's One-of-a-Kind Ferrari SP12 EC

Being a world-class musician has its perks. If you're legendary classic rocker Eric Clapton, this includes getting your own one-of-a-kind custom Ferrari.

Designed by the Ferrari Style Centre in collaboration with Pininfarina and Maranello’s own engineers, the SP12 EC (EC for Eric Clapton) is part of Ferrari’s One-Off Programme. This particular model was created as an homage to Clapton’s career and his long history as a Ferrari owner. Over the years, the guitarist’s favorite model has been the Ferrari 512 BB, of which he’s owned three. The multi-award-winning 458 Italia was also used as inspiration for the SP12 EC.

Clapton said that embarking on the project was like “being in front of a gigantic blank canvas that had to be painted on” and that being involved with the birth and development of the car was “an incredible experience, one of the most satisfying things I’ve ever done.”

Ferrari added: “Just like music is created, applying the right notes in the right places to build a musical score, so was the creative process behind the SP12 EC.”
