In order to celebrate the launch of The Standard Boardshorts by Quicksilver, the two companies partnered up to throw one awesome pool party this past Saturday. Sam and I were invited to partake in the festivities which included everything from a tub of free flip flops and water guns to a huge twister board and photo area with vintage style mannequins. They even served up shaved ice with delicious flavors and Sprinkles cupcakes!
Here are some gorgeous men modeling the new boardshorts. I love how the shorts are a modern take on a vintage look. Way to ham it up, guys!
We first checked out the art show which was a retrospective on the surfing culture at Echo Beach. We even bumped into Jeff Parker, the director of the "Echo Beach" documentary. Check him out in front of some of his older pictures (see top left).
They displayed old Quicksilver shorts alongside some surfing memorabilia from the late 70's and early 80's.
Now on to the party....As you walk in you're invited to grab some water guns and flip flops...
As you would expect, LA's finest turned out to enjoy a beautiful weekend day...
Special t-shirt designs were created for this event and were being printed right on the spot..
Hop around the corner and you'll find a fun game of Twister set up along with comfy chairs to lounge in.
I loved the little details - how you could just tell how everything was so well thought out. They truly made it one of the best party experiences I've ever been to.
The coolest part, of all, was meeting some great new friends.
Thanks, Liz, for inviting us to this awesome event! Now I just have to decide on which pair of boardshorts I want to get Sam...
