Talk about die-hard fans! Inspired by the Lord of the Rings series, The Hunt For Gollum is an unofficial not for profit short film by a group of enthusiast filmmakers. This mini-epic was made in widescreen, runs 45 minutes long, and was just released for free download (website below) on May 3rd. Lord of the Rings fan Chris Bouchard adapted the $3,000 fan film from the appendices of JRR Tolkien’s epic fantasy novels. The story follows the Heir of Isildur; the “greatest huntsman and traveler in Middle Earth” as he sets out to find the creature Gollum. The creature must be found to discover the truth about the Ring, and to protect the future Ringbearer. The Hunt For Gollum website

  • I watched this yesterday and I was amazed. I've never seen a fan film so well made. It even looks like they filmed in the same areas where Peter Jackson did (New Zealand).
