Fantastic Food Landscapes - Carl Warner (10 pics)

Next time you're walking through your local grocery market, think of Carl Warner. His unbelievably meticulous food landsapes will put a smile on your face. Not just a photographer but a true artist, Warner takes vegetables, fruit, fish, meat and dairy and turns them into amazing scenes. One of his most recent creations is Garlicshire. Just as you imagined, Warner took inspiration from the movie, The Lord of the Rings.

As you scroll through these photos, take a close look at the ingredients he uses in everything from the sea to the sky. Amazing..isn't it?

Aptly, Warner calls his food related photos, "Foodscapes."

"Foodscapes started out as personal project where I wanted to highlight the idea of implied design within the natural world, the qualities within organic forms. I begin by drawing a very conventional landscape using classic compositional techniques as I need to fool the viewer into thinking it is a real scene at first glance. It is the realization of what the real ingredients are that brings a smile, and for me that's the best part."

Fantastic. You could just lose yourself in these edible landscapes. I particularly love the bread mountains and the fish sea. Each one seems like a likely setting for an Edward Lear poem.
